A massive manhunt is on as a Penn Hills Police Officer ‘Mike Crawshaw’ has been shot. Within a span of few days, one more police officer loses his life while he reportedly arrived at the crime scene to address some domestic complaint. The incident occurred at an Allegheny County township.
Not very far ago, a Pelham police officer was reported shot at a traffic signal at I-65 on December 3 and the tragedy is followed by yet another sad incident. On Sunday, an officer from Penn Hills Police Department was reported shot by some anonymous person while he was supposedly there to attend a complaint about some domestic disturbance.
This particular incident occurred in the Allegheny County vicinity and the police officer Mike Crawshaw was not the only victim; another lifeless body of a male was also discovered in a nearby Pittsburg house by the police authorities. Police informed that it was around eight in the evening when according to the neighbors, around ten gunshots were heard.
The Allegheny County Township consists of a population of approximately 50,000 and the crime rate there is not very high. Therefore, the Sunday incident that claimed two lives shocked the people around. The police didn’t seem to have any clue whether what would be the motive of the killer who killed the officer in his patrolling vehicle whereas the other man inside a house.
This has not been confirmed either whether both the men were killed by the same person. Charles W. Moffatt the Superintendent of Police informed that the weapon used in the crime seemed to be an assault rifle. He further confirmed there were no suspect(s) therefore, no arrests made yet.
