At a usual traffic stop at I-65, a Pelham police officer was shot on Thursday. The identities of both the killer and the killed one have not been aired yet. The incident occurred at 23:50 on December 3, wherein a police officer was wounded and later died. The suspect is under custody. The families of both involved are being approached.
There is going to be a press conference soon with regards to above incident that involved the death of a police officer and the arrest of a white man that allegedly wounded the official who was reported dead later. The latest updates reveal that no word has been aired detailing the identities of either the persons involved.
According to the details provided by the Pelham Police Department, a white man attacked the official in the early hours of Friday morning and opened the fire for a reason not known as yet. The details have been purposefully held by the police whether what was the motive of the attacker that has been described as a white man. No details could be obtained whether what kind of weapon the killer used, either. However, the track where the incident took place i.e. I-65, has been reportedly reopened for the public to travel.
Subsequently, a release followed by the Pelham Police Department, detailing the incident and it described the situation as follows:-
“At 23:50 hours on Thursday, Dec. 3, a person shot at a Pelham Police Officer and wounded him fatally, at a routine traffic stop near I-65 Pelham area. The investigations are ongoing considering the incident as murder of an officer on duty. The details of the officer such as his name, rank or any other identity is withheld and the same would only be released when the family has been informed.”
“The suspect a white man is under police custody and his name or any other information would be released when the charge(s) are finalized and filed. All the relevant information would only be provided when the investigators are through with their task.”
