Michael Jackson’s Funeral Live is the end of Pop King’s voyage. At Michael Jackson’s Funeral Live, celebrities from round the globe were present at Forest Lawn to pay tribute to the most Prominent Figure of the Popular Culture.
The body of Pop Music King Michael Joseph Jackson (August 29, 1958 – June 25, 2009) whose death has now been officially ruled a ‘Homicide’ due to intoxication, had been kept and temporarily stored for more than one month at Forest Lawn.
The gracious ceremony of the King’s funeral was in fact a ‘glamour’ show as big names like Macaulay Culkin the actor, Dame Elizabeth Taylor, Quincy Jones the music producer, Barry Bonds the football player, Mial Kunis, Chris Tucker, Kenny Ortega, Corey Feldman, Lisa Marie Presley and many many more, were among the list of 200 celebrity guests invited for the occasion.
Gladys Maria Knight, “The Empress of Soul” was also there to sing at the service along with Reverend Al Sharpton as a speaker. Katherine and Joe Jackson along with Prince Michael, Paris, and Prince Michael-II were seated in the front row.
The ceremony was started a little after 0300 GMT although it was scheduled to be held at 0200 GMT. The Jackson family, who arrived in 31 vehicles, caused the delay. All the Jackson brothers i.e. Randy, Jackie, Tito, Jermaine and Marlon were dressed black to act the pallbearers and carried the Gold plated Coffin from the mortuary vehicle. They wore solitary white gloves to represent the fashion statement of Michael Jackson’s own.
Finally when it was already dark at Great Mausoleum (Forest Lawn), the ceremony started and the funeral service took place, after more than two months of his death. A heavy police force controlled the things real nice by cordoning off roads and small passages towards Forest Lawn.
The Jackson family is real thankful to all the mourners present, watching live coverage, or contributing in anyway whatsoever towards King’s last moments. All the mourners were invited to accompany the Jackson’s family on a post-funeral reception at an Italian restaurant. The live coverage of the funeral and other activities is expected to be used as a part of forthcoming documentary on star’s life called ‘This is it.’
