Though the Boston Logan Airport remained operative during the blizzard but the insufficient number of aircrafts has been the major problem. The only good news for the travelers is that no re-booking fees are being charged by the airlines. Dozens of flights are being cancelled and situation may remain so till early Monday.

The powerful snowstorm is still at its peak and likely to hit the East Coast for few more days. The only shoppers would be seen visiting the shops near the airport areas in order to obtain some warm stuff to wrap around as the life seems to be freezing out there. Mike Montelongo that nurtures a shop at the Brookstone briefed to media that its nice to see people coming to shop, though not a large number of them.

Many of the passengers, who walked through the chilly and snowy streets to the airport in the afternoon, were disappointed to learn that flights for the mid-Atlantic cities and states were still not available following several cancellation notices.

The Massachusetts areas were hit by the storm somewhere around evening and if the present condition persists, it won’t be possible for the airport authorities to run the operation smoothly before the Monday morning.

According the transportation officials, the passengers are being advised to check the online status of the flight schedules prior to heading for the Logan Airport. Since only one runway is being used, the Christmas travelers are in chaos and uncertainty whether when they would be onboard again. Right now, most of the terminals are empty and everyone there at the airport is hoping and praying for the storm to end soon.
