Kristie Tunick, 32, diagnosed with Stiff Person Syndrome. A rare Neurological Disorder that locks the Women’s body and causes their muscles to stiffen painfully.
Brian Mendenhall, her fiance has been her real moral support: “I am not a kind of person who may just close his eyes, turn his back and walk away.” Rather he has shown affectionate love to Kristie Tunick and stood by her side during the whole awesome painful period of her treatment.
Till 2006 when Kristie was 29, she had complaints of some kind of stomach problems and autoimmune state of health that had already caused her great deal of weakness. Her health started further deteriorating and she ended up with gallbladder removal surgery. She started to feel her muscles stiffened and kind locked.
This was serious enough for the family to take notice of as now Kristie found hard even to breath. She would temporarily paralyze for several hours. This was the beginning of Stiff Person Syndrome, a rare neurological condition in which, the immune system of human body, attacks itself. Due to its lack of significant similarity to any other neurological diseases, its called rare or unique in nature.
Mendenhal, is still taking as much care of her as possible because as a matter of fact, Kristie is still under treatment and restricted to her bed with strong hopes to recover sometime. The couple is always in search of some special clinic or hospital where the precious life of Kristie would be saved. These days they only recall their good old days, the days full of love.
