39-year-old John Mislow from Newton, Mass., has been recognized as one of the two climbers who have been found dead on Alaska’s Mt. McKinley which is North America’s highest peak (20,320 feet). While the other climber 36-year-old Andrew Swanson was from Minneapolis.
Reports say, they were roped together when they fell from approximately 16,500 feet to 14,500 feet, while they were on the Messner Couloir. They were identified as doctors and experienced climbers, after their bodies were recovered.
Records mention, more than 300 mountaineers may have lost their life after they tried to climb on McKinley.
