Metro train operator 42-year-old Jeanice McMillan, of Springfield, has been died after a collision between two trains in Washington DC. The train crash happened outside Fort Totten station. A total of 9 have been reportedly died, while more than 70 injured in the subway train collision.
Reports say, Jeanice McMillan got the job of driving Metro train in Jan 2007. She was inexperienced as she ranked 18th from the down side of the list containing 523 names of drivers.
Normally, the people wanted to drive Metro train must have one year bus driving experience. After having the required experience, he/she has to undergo a process of 12 weeks to learn how to drive a train.
Metro General Manager ‘John Catoe’ said, “The tragedy happened is beyond belief, and I am saddened like I can’t describe what is going on in my heart due to grief.” However, the actual cause of Metro collision has yet not been determined by the investigators.
