Watch California tailback Jahvid Best 2009 injury video. During a game between California Golden Bears versus Oregon State on Saturday November 7, 2009 Jahvid Best sustained a severe back/neck injury and was rushed to hospital. The video shows the impact of a freefall as high as at least 5-foot in the air.
The fans were stunned to see an incident during Saturday’s live action between California Golden Bears and Oregon State when the famous California tailback Jahvid Best just flew in the air way too high and landed on the ground with back and neck hitting hard. The injury left the youngster absolutely motionless with his helmet just blown away. Although the immediate medical attention was carried out but that proved insufficient and finally Best had to be dispatched to the hospital for further treatment. The way Best remained motionless even while being carried out on the stretcher, made the teammates and the fans bit more worried.
While talking to the reporters later, Herb Benenson the California Golden Bears’ spokesman mentioned that the initially all the signs suggested a concussion as Jahvid Best had lost the consciousness completely. Consequently, he was taken to the emergency room but according to Jeff Tedford the coach, the initial tests, however, seem to be normal.
The video clip has a full coverage of the incident wherein Jahvid Best would be seen leaping up in the air after he kind flipped by Oregon defender Cameron Collins, just smashed into the ground while the back, the neck and the head touching the ground massively. He was immediately provided with oxygen to breathe properly. His caused an overall delay of 13 minutes before the game would be resumed.
Herb was not sure whether his condition would require Jahvid to spend the night over there in the hospital.
