The Councilman of Honolulu City, 56-year-old Duke Bainum died on June 9, 2009, due to aneurysm complications, confirmed by Bainum’s staff. He was an American politician and a member of the ‘Hawaii Democratic Party’ who served in the ‘Hawaii State House of Representatives’ from the year 1990 to 1994.

Duke Bainum became city council member and continued serving as city council member from the year 1995 to 2003. He was once again elected as city council member in the year 2008.

Duke Bainum ran for Mayor of Honolulu in the year 2004, but lost to ‘Mufi Hannemann.’

He is survived by ‘Jennifer Toma Bainum,’ his wife and ‘Z and Kona,’ his two sons.

A special election will must be held to fill the place of Duke Bainum.
