On June 30 an American soldier Bowe Bergdahl full name Bowe R. Bergdahl was imprisoned in Pakitka province in southeastern Afghanistan. Pentagon has recognized him on Sunday. The Defense Department elaborated in a statement that a soldier is PFC, 23-year-old Bowe Bergdahl from Ketchum, Idaho.
In a video posted on internet Bergdahl said that he is afraid and he will not be able to go home. He has very good family that I love to go home and I love them all, and he misses them. He also added that he won’t be able to see his family again and he will never be able hug them again. He said that it is very scaring to be a prisoner but his captor treated him guest.
The Army told that on July 2 a U.S combatant had vanished as he walked away from base in eastern Afghanistan, three Afghan is supposed to take him away.
Idaho National Guard has released a statement that consists of Bergdahl’s family comments. They said that “We hope and pray for our son’s safe return to his friends and then to our family, we appreciate all the support and sympathy shown by our family members, our friends and across all the nations. Thank you, and please go on with praying for Bowe.”
Captors had allowed Bowe to give a message for Americans, Bowe gave a message “To my Americans friends who have their loved ones here, what it’s like to miss friends, you have the power to make government to take us home. Please take us home so we can be there where we belong.”
Taliban had earlier taken the responsibility of Bergdahl’s capturing, U.S. military said. A U.S military Spokesman in Afghanistan, Lieutenant Commander Christine Sidensstricker said that Taliban were making use of Bowe for propaganda. Military had handed out pamphlets in eastern Afghanistan to search Bowe. Two pamphlets were handed out written in Pashto language.
The military told it is deemed that Bergdahl may have been shifted to various places. In the Video, he says to have been moved from Pakitka province to Khandahar, but it is unverified. He told it was 14 July. It is not clear whether this video is true. Soldier told that he have heard a Chinook helicopter carrying 37 troops of NATO have been shot down over Helmand. A helicopter was shot down in southern Afghanistan on July 14, but it is taking civilians in a caring manner. Six Ukrainian passengers were died in accident and a child was killed on the ground.
After Bergdahl was disappeared, a senior U.S military official told that Afghan soldiers along with Bergdahl had been made captive by low level militants and then they had sold them to the tribe and network led by military commander Siraj Haqqani.
