Update: Arturo Gatti’s wife, Amanda Rodrigues Gatti has been recognized with her real name as Amanda Carina Barbosa Rodrigues. She has been kept inside the Recife city police station by Brazilian authorities for the suspect of her husband’s murder. Police called the murder of Arturo Gatti as ‘a homicide crime.’ More details will be released after the decided press conference.

Arturo Gatti’s wife, 23-year-old Amanda Rodrigues Gatti has been arrested by Brazil Police on the suspects of killing her own husband 37-year-old ex-boxing champion, Arturo Gatti. Reportedly, Arturo Gatti was found dead in a Dorisol hotel (located on Porto de Galinhas beach, Brazil) room on Saturday morning at 6am, July 11, 2009, when he was celebrating his 2nd honeymoon with his wife, Amanda Rodrigues Gatti and 1-year-old son.

Amanda Rodrigues Gatti has been arrested by Brazilian authorities on her confusing behavior after being found changing stories, suspected by the authorities as foul play. And, a bloody purse strap was also recovered by the authorities which they believe was used to strangle Arturo Gatti.

“There were problems between Arturo Gatti and Amanda Rodrigues Gatti and there were chances of separation as well,” reported to the Brazilian authorities by a close friend of Gatti, Acelino Freitas.

According to eyewitnesses, and ABC also reported that Arturo Gatti came into the hotel room allegedly drunk as they both (Arturo Gatti and Amanda Rodrigues Gatti) were jealous of each other. It has also been reported that Arturo Gatti had already complained of Amanda Rodrigues Gatti’s attire.
